My senior capstone is based on an interest and passion I have had for as long as I can remember: movies. I wanted to understand why so many films released within the past ten years or so were not based on original ideas, but rather were sequels, remakes, or adaptations. My senior research culminated in a literature review that outlined some answers to this question, as well as a survey and findings that answer how members of my generation are feeling about this shift.
